Nobody said it was easy
Printed tennis ball with display loop, produced by Georgia Gendall for 'From the Field'.
Georgia Gendall is an artist whose practice takes many different forms, ranging from absurd performative actions and quasi-practical sculptural objects to snappy video works and curious ceramics. She is also the instigator of far reaching collaborations and independent projects.
There’s a wry humour and attention to the smaller details of life that underpins her work as well as a straightforward instinctive approach to working with contemporary rural settings and concerns.
For her contribution to From the Field Georgia recreated a memorable incident she witnessed on a lockdown walk, an imperfect simulation of the perfect moment when the mundane act of solo tennis practice got its own movie soundtrack courtesy of Coldplay.
